Quello che é veramente accaduto lo rivela The Simpsons Archive:
[La rivista IN CHARACTER - # 24, MAGGIO 1991 - ha pubblicato] un servizio di moda che presentava Marge Simpson con l'usuale abbigliamento, ma con scarpe di design e Homer in completo e cravatta firmata. Il testo leggeva così: "Homer e Marge Simpson mostrano accessori che richiedono la vostra attenzione: su Homer spicca una cravatta in seta di Emilio Pucci, $ 65; Marge indossa sandali in pelle di Manolo Blahnik, $415."
"In Character" non viene più pubblicata e il suo archivio online non arriva sino al 1991. Le foto del servizio non si trovano, non in rete almeno.
The Simpsons Archive explains what happened:
[The magazine IN CHARACTER - #24, May 1991 - published a] clothing fashion spread with a couple on each page features Marge in designer shoes and her other normal attire being held by a suited Homer with a designer tie. The text: "Attention-grabbing accessories on Homer and Marge Simpson: Homer is decked out in a Emilio Pucci silk tie, $65; Marge slips on Manolo Blahnik patent-leather mules, $415."
"In Character" ceased publication and the article can't be found anywhere.

La copertina di "Madame Bovary" invece non viene quasi mai citata (qui Vogue Italia riprende punti). Blahnik l'ha disegnata in occasione del 60° anniversario della casa editrice Penguin per la serie Designer Classics (2006).
Always forgotten is the Penguin limited edition (1,000 copies) of Flaubert's "Madame Bovary". Blahnik designed the cover for the 60th anniversary of the publisher (Designer Classics, 2006).

E inoltre: é falsa anche la notizia che Bianca sia entrata in groppa al cavallo. Bianca Jagger lo racconta ad I CORRECT:
"… un cavallo bianco venne portato all'interno dello Studio 54 di New York. L'ho montato solo per pochi istanti vestita con un abito Halston lungo e di colore rosso. Sulla serata si é scritto molto e i fatti sono stati mal riportati da diversi media rispettabili, inclusa la BBC".

Also, the whole story is not exactly right, so let Bianca set the record stright on I Correct:
"… a horse was brought into Studio 54 in New York. I briefly mounted the horse, dressed in a full length red Halston dress. Unfortunately this event has been fictionalized and the facts have been misrepresented by several reputable media outlets including the BBC".

Actually, to be precise, Manolos are made at Caimar and Re Marcello (Vigevano) and Parabiago's Cleo Bottier. The fourth name it's confidential. (We think it's the best one). Eventually the list grew bigger ...
