If you ask me, I'm for The Beatles AND The Rolling Stones. On the other hand, when it comes to footwear you had to choose between the Beatle Boots ...

Mai nessun riferimento alle calzature fino alla pubblicazione di "Tattoo You" (1981), per inciso, l'ultimo album rispettabile della loro carriera. Il primo singolo tratto dall'album - "Start Me Up" - é diventato tristemente famoso perché scelto da Microsoft per il lancio di Windoze 95. E per questa copertina.

And things remained that way until 1981's "Tattoo You", the last great Stones record. The first single off the album was "Start Me Up", sadly famous for being chosen - years later, by Microsoft for the Windoze 95 campaign. And this infamous cover as well.

Non si conosce il nome del fotografo né la motivazione della scelta grafica. Se vi interessano le varie ipotesi (satiro femminile, piede di capra, piede del diavolo etc) le potete leggere QUI. L'unica connessione con "Goat Heads Soup" é la presenza dei brani "Tops" e "Waiting For A Friend" - esclusi da "Goat" (Capra) e che risalgono a quel periodo (fine 1972).

Poteva essere finita qui, ma come accade sempre più spesso, la realtà supera la finzione. 

The photographer is unknown and so are the reasons behind the artwork choice. If interested, theories and speculations can be found HERE (female satyr, Goat's foot, Devil's foot, and so on). The only connection with "Goat" are two "Goat" outtakes - "Tops" and "Waiting For A Friend" - written and recorded back then (end of 1972) 

So, bad artwork choice aside, it's done & dusted right? No, it's always stranger than fiction.
