Nel 2035 il detective Del Spooner [Will Smith] è forse l’unico al mondo a nutrire dei dubbi nei confronti dei diffusissimi robot che aiutano gli uomini nei lavori domestici. Le tre leggi della robotica, su cui si basa l’azione dei robot nei confronti del genere umano, dovrebbero essere garanzia di tutela, ma per Spooner la rigida razionalità dei robot è un potenziale rischio contro l’umanità.

L'apparente suicidio del progettista dei robot di ultimissima generazione NS-5 aumenta i sospetti di Spooner e lo porta ad indagare e trovare conferma delle proprie paure. Ma lo conduce anche a scoprire ed apprezzare Sonny, il robot dotato di emozioni e sogni ed unico come lo sono gli esseri umani.

Detective Del Spooner [Will Smith], in the year 2035, is maybe the only one in the world to doubt against the ubiquitous robots helping men in housework. The three laws of robotics, basis of robot’s behavior towards the human race, should guarantee their protection, but for Spooner the strict rationality of robots represents a potential risk against humanity.

The apparent suicide of the man who designed the latest generation of NS-5 robots increases Spooner’s suspicions and lead him to investigate. He finds out confirmation of his fears, but he also discover and appreciate Sonny, the robot as unique as the human beings are and with emotions and dreams.

Nel film del 2004 diretto da Alex Proyas e liberamente ispirato all’omonima antologia di racconti di Isaac Asimov del 1950, Del Spooner è un estimatore del vintage e la sua casa è una collezione di oggetti del passato: un lettore di CD, una sveglia e un telefono anni ’70, una chitarra acustica, una spada antica e in garage una moto italiana (MV Agusta F4 SPR). L’ultimo pezzo della collezione è stato appena acquistato. Ad alcuni piace, ad altri no.

In the 2004 movie directed by Alex Proyas and loosely based on the short stories anthology by Isaac Asimov, Del Spooner is a vintage addict and collector of objects from the past: a CD player, an alarm clock and a telephone from the Seventies, an acoustic guitar, an ancient sword, an Italian bike in the garage (MV Agusta F4 SPR). Spooner just purchased the last piece in the collection. Some like it, some don't.
