1979 - 1980 | ANDY WARHOL AT BLAHNIK'S, NY

Finally, at 758 Madison Avenue, one will find Manolo Blahnik, where the shoes are chic, expensive and well made. All are designed by Mr. Blahnik, who has a shop in London and is one of the best shoe designers anywhere. There are suede ankle boots; black suede pumps with elegantly long toes, gracefully curved heels, and his newest shoe - an icy satin brocade pump with the new round toe. All cost between $200 and $300. And if Mr. Blahnik is in town, which he often is, why, he will fit you personally and pronounce the combination of your feet and his shoes divine, his favorite word.

Got up and wandered around, passing out (the magazine) Interview. I went to Manolo Blahnik’s new shoe store on 65th and Madison, next to Kron’s, really beautiful, one-of-a-kind shoes.

… Bianca [Jagger] had a great Halston top on and a blue bottom and her ass really was wide. She had on Manolo shoes and an Elsa Peretti belt.
