Un giornalista musicale li ha defintiti “l’equivalente musicale del calcio totale olandese”. Decisamente superiori rispetto alla scabrosa media del pop britannico - anche odierno intendo - ma non esageriamo. La copertina é quella della ristampa spagnola del 1989 curata dalla Producciones Twins.
From the official web site: “Described by one journalist as the musical equivalent of the 70s Dutch team with their total football". A bit of an exaggeration, isn’t it? Although it is fair to say they are far superior to the average pop band from the U.K. (Not that difficult). The sleeve is the Spanish re-release from 1989 (Producciones Twins).

Con “Head First”, terzo album, é cominciata la parabola discendente del gruppo di John Waite che i più stagionati ricorderanno per “Missing You”. Non che prima fossero molto meglio, ma almeno non rovinavano i brani con tastiere asfissianti - non tutti almeno - e tentavano di limitare le ballate strappalacrime.
“Head First” is third LP that marks the beginning of the end for the John Waite’s band. Never a real rock band but at least - earlier in their career - they had a couple of rockers per album among the poignant ballads.
