Quality easy listening music but the formula is growing thin. All French songs/artists this time. The wrongs ones (Manu Chao being the exception). For the righteous "Made in France" stuff look no further than Guilty Razors, Metal Urbain, Mopo Mogo, Kidnap, Cosmic Wurst and so on …

David Johansen continua a far uscire dischi solisti utilizzando il nome del suo vecchio gruppo. Non un brutto lavoro, ma NON c'entra con le Dolls! E per la quarta - forse quinta - volta viene riciclata "Funky But Chic". Azzeccato il titolo che rimanda alla famosa frase di Ginger Roger che diceva di "saper eseguire tutto ciò che faceva Fred Astaire, ma al contrario e con i tacchi alti".
David Johansen keeps releasing solo records under the New york Dolls moniker. Not a bad record per se, but it's no NY Dolls. And "Funky But Chic" is recycled for the fourth time (maybe fifth). The very nice title is a reference to an old saying about Ginger Roger: she could do everything her partner Fred Astaire did backward and in high heels.

Atto conclusivo della celebrata trilogia berlinese. Il lato A (quello debole) include "Yassassin" nota ai fan dei Litfiba della prima ora. Il lato B risolleva il livello e gli animi.
La fantastica foto di copertina é dello scomparso Brian Duffy che per Bowie ha firmato anche le copertine di "Aladdin Sane" (1973) e "Scary Monsters" (1980). Le foto all'interno del disco sono di Bruce Webber, prima della svolta Moncler/animalista.
Third act of the Berlin Trilogy. 32 years later the A side remains weak (first 5 songs) and the B side remains strong. Very.
Fantastic cover shot made by the late great Bruce Duffy who also signed Bowie's "Aladdin Sane" (1973) and "Scary Monsters" (1980). Inlay photos by Bruce Webber before his fascination with the Moncler's animals.
