MONSIEUR ROGER VIVIER FOR PRINCESS SORAYA | FROM THE AUCTION: "ROGER VIVIER. PERSONAL COLLECTION. 50 YEARS OF CREATIONS" |

Molto.

Just the perfect time to exhibit an outstanding body of work spanning 50 years, wasted by the media to show only the most expensive shoe in the world. Yes, there was something else to see and to know about.

1987 | Roger Vivier at the Louvre
[Lot # 317]

French auction house AGUTTES sold 343 (ThreeHundredsFourtyThree) lots belonging to Roger Vivier's heir. A collection primarily made of shoes but also pictures, drawings, collages and even the giant wooden sculptures created for the retrospective "Roger Vivier's Shoes" back in 1987 (Pavillon de Marsan, LOUVRE).
About 80% of the collection went to: French government (55 lots), maison Roger Vivier (more than 200 lots) and the French Footwear Association; the rest to German and American museums.
Given the price (€ 19,763 TAX included), the media attention focused on the one model (out of four) created for the Iranian princess Soraya, who passed away October, 26 2001.

Ecco. Prezzo modico: € 9.562 IVA inclusa.

There you go. THE shoe. By the way, it's "one shoe" - a prototype - not "a pair of shoes" as reported by countless sources (Forbes, La Moda Dubai, The Rich Times, International Business Times, StyleEite ...).. Anyway, price or not, it eclipsed even the "MIMOSA" - satin boot with the can-can heel used for the catalog cover - bought by the International Shoe Museum of Romans-sur-Isère (Lion). The price was chicken feed: € 9,562 TAX included.
