Via Anselmo Ronchetti a Milano è una traversa di Corso Monforte. Sulla targa si legge “Patriota” a sintetizzare l’opera di una figura semisconosciuta, vissuta a cavallo di Sette e Ottocento. A Ronchetti sono dedicate solo due altre strade: un vicoletto in centro a Desio e, a Pogliano Milanese, la strada che collega il centro alla statale del Sempione, la SS 33. Pogliano lo ricorda poiché Anselmo Ronchetti vi nacque nel 1773. E noi lo ricordiamo perché con lui facciamo iniziare idealmente la storia dell’ars sutoria della SS 33.
Ronchetti fu indubbiamente animato da spirito patriottico, ma soprattutto fu celebrato dai suoi contemporanei come un impareggiabile calzolaio. O meglio, come un raffinatissimo artista, scelto come amico più che fornitore dai più importanti letterati, pittori, politici del tempo (uno per tutti Napoleone Bonaparte) e da loro celebrato sia come persona, che come splendido artigiano.

"Via Anselmo Ronchetti" in Milan is a side street of Corso Monforte. The street plate defines him as a "Patriot", to summarize the work of a semi-unknown figure, lived at the turn of two centuries (18th and 19th). Ronchetti gives the name to two other roads only: an alley in the center of Desio (Milan)and the road that connects the center of Pogliano Milanese to the main road of the Simplon (SS33). Pogliano remembers him being the birthplace of Anselmo Ronchetti (1773). And we remember him as the starting point of the ars sutoria history on the SS 33.
Actually Ronchetti was undoubtedly motivated by a patriotic spirit, but above all it was celebrated by his contemporaries as an unparalleled shoe maker. Or, even better, as a refined artist, chosen as a friend rather than a supplier from the most important writers, painters, politicians of the time (one for all Napoleon Bonaparte) and they celebrated him as a person and master craftsman.
