SCARPE PARIGINE SEMPLICI E INTELLIGENTI

PARIS SHOES ARE SMART BUT SIMPLE
Perugia has invented a new system of shoemaking, which he has patented. The shoe is made of any material, but the sole is made of wood, sometime lacquered in color in leather and aluminum. The wood or leather is in three sections running across the sole, jointed or grooved to allow great flexibility.

And just for once, André Perugia is not the first inventor here. Thirty-five years before the Perugia model (1893), William Hall, a citizen from Fort Wayne, Indiana came up with the patent of the articulated sole.

It is also worth mentioning the existence of a more elaborate wooden sole made in 1952 by Flexiclogs. You can read about it HERE from Kickshaw Production's Jonathan Walford.
